They are very beautiful, and the wish is to share them in the hope that others may enjoy them also. They ring with the sound of truth so typical of its author, and are all in their own particular way indicative of his total trust in the Advaita Teaching. They also reveal how much care he took with regard to each individual, uplifting and supporting them where necessary. Because of their personal nature they reveal something of the deeply emotional nature which Mr MacLaren did not often show in public, nor revealed in his written material. The subjects are spread over a wide field of human experience, dealing with how to care for students and how to run a school organization; about meditation and the inner world; about death and disease; and about immortality.

They have been edited in so far that the names of the people they were addressed to have been deleted. The dates and the parts which are relevant for anyone to read have been kept.
